The answers you give on this application will help us find the best possible match between you and one of our available rescue dogs.

Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt one of our dogs. We will conduct a home visit and reference check as part of our application screening.

We reserve the right to refuse any application. The minimum age for adopting from our program is 21 years old. You must agree to take your new pet to your veterinarian for a general wellness check within 5 days of the dog joining your family. You must also agree to keep your new pet current on vaccinations and monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis, however the dog will be placed with the applicant that can provide the best possible situation for his/her needs.

Our adoption fee varies due to the circumstances of each individual pet, this ensures that the pet has had a spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and age-appropriate vaccinations. The adoption fee is due the day the dog is placed into your home. Please know that Dog Rescue R Us strives to achieve the most successful match for both dog and prospective family.

All adoptions have a 7 day period in which to return the dog if dog is not a good fit for your family for a 50% return of your adoption fee. All current pets over the age of 6 months MUST be spayed or neutered unless otherwise restricted by a licensed veterinarian. Other reasons for not previously spay/neutering will be evaluated and approved by the board of directors of Dog Rescue R Us on a case by case basis but must be explained on the application.

All current pets MUST be up to date on the Rabies and Parvo/Distemper/Bordetella vaccinations.

All current pets MUST LIVE INDOORS with access to outdoors 365/24/7. Your adoptive pet MUST be part of the family and intended to be a family member for a LIFETIME. If you are looking for a “guard dog” or “yard ornament” – Dog Rescue R Us is not for you.

Please be sure to include contact information for personal references, veterinarian references, and your landlord if applicable. Please only include pets that YOU have been financially and medically responsible for. Do NOT include family pets that you did NOT make financial and medical decisions for.

We will take into consideration your past pet ownership. This means we will take into consideration whether or not your past pets have been spayed or neutered. We will take into consideration if you have had to rehome a pet in the past. We will take into consideration whether or not past pet have been mostly indoor pets. Having to rehome a pet or a previous pet that was not spayed or neutered or previous pet being an outdoor pet does NOT automatically disqualify you. Each application will be decided on a case by case basis.

All of the information I have given above true and complete. The adopted animal will reside in my home as a pet. I will provide it with food, shelter, water, training, affection and any medical care including heartworm preventative. If or any reason any of the information changes, I will advise you promptly. If I can't keep my adopted dog, he/she MUST be returned to DRRU (Dog Rescue R Us).
